Québec City, Québec
A European Experience in the heart of North America
Québec City is universally considered to be the most European city in North America. With its fortress walls, stone buildings and cobblestone lanes, it has so much charm it is a unique discovery. And Québec is one of the continent’s greatest ski towns, with three of the best ski areas in the East right in its backyard. The best value is a “Carte Blanche” lift ticket, providing holders with access to all three resorts: Mont-Sainte-Anne, Stoneham and Le Massif.
Located in a wind protected horse-shaped valley, Stoneham Mountain Resort is the closest to the city.. Not only does it provide plenty of terrain, but at night the lights come on and it turns into a veritable party on snow with music, great food and fun. It’s no wonder Stoneham hosts the FIS Snowboard World Cup at the start of each season.
Mont-Sainte-Anne, just 25 miles (16 kilometers) from the wonders of Québec City is the second largest resort in Eastern Canada. With 2,050 feet of vertical drop and challenging black-diamonds, including its latest addition, – the Black Forest, Mont-Sainte-Anne is considered by many has the best skiable terrain in the East. But with three different faces, the mountain also has gentle terrain, not to mention one of Canada’s most acclaimed ski schools, excellent snowmaking and great kids’ programs.
Not far away is Le Massif, a unique and memorable area in many ways. With the highest vertical drop east of the Canadian Rockies and its unforgettable view of mountains falling into the St. Lawrence River, no other area offers such outstanding beauty. With its abundant snowfalls, gourmet fare and warm ambience, Le Massif is without a doubt Canada’s best kept secret.
